Bill to Eliminate Mercury in Vaccines
Help us Eliminate Mercury in Vaccines In Minnesota

Dear friend,

Minnesota citizens are still at risk of receiving vaccines containing thimerosal, a toxic mercury compound. The Material Safety Data Sheet for thimerosal says that “exposure in children may cause mild to severe mental retardation." (Eli Lilly)

Our bill to protect Minnesotans from mercury in vaccines would require that in any situation where a mercury-free vaccine is available, that should be used rather than the mercury-containing one. If a mercury-free vaccine is not available, one containing mercury may be given but the patient must be given informed consent.

We need your help to ensure that your legislator votes for this bill!

Please call your State Senator and Representative and ask them to vote for the safest possible vaccines – mercury-free.

Then call them and you will get either a voice mail message or a legislative assistant will answer. You can give a very simple message or you can share more information. Here are the main points:

• I am your constituent. (Give your address to identify that you are in their district)
• Please vote for SF 639, HF 1505 the Elimination of Mercury in Vaccines Bill
• Mercury is a toxic substance that has never been tested for safety and should not be in vaccines until safety testing has shown that it is safe
• We now have mercury-free vaccines and there is no excuse to continue using ones with mercury
• Seven states have now passed similar legislation, with many more pending
