Newsletters > Summer 1997 > All Politics is Local, by Marillyn Beyer
Now that the legislative session is over and your representatives
are at home, why not educate them on the benefits of natural health and why
these services should remain in the public domain.
How about organizing a breakfast, coffee or pot-lunch
and inviting your legislators and their spouses. Invite friends to discuss
their experiences with a natural health provider, the benefits, its cost-effectiveness
and safety. Invite providers to explain their services and offer free demonstrations.
(An acupuncturist recently lobbied the Capitol and demonstrated his service.)
Invite MNHC members to attend so your representatives
will associate your needs with the Coalition’s upcoming legislation. Our role
will be minimal, with literature provided upon request.
If you plan a meeting, let us know:
- How many people attended ... guests’ names, addressess
and phone numbers are appreciated. MNHC and CNH will use this information
for future lobbying efforts.
- Names of presenters and topics.
- How did legislators respond?
