The judge will decide based on whether the proposed rule is NEEDED and REASONABLE. State that you oppose the proposed rule which would require that parents give their infants chickenpox and pneumococcal vaccines or sign for an exemption. Tell in your own words why you feel that it is not needed or reasonable. Here are some examples, but use your own wisdom. Share any experiences you have had.

Invasive pneumococcal disease is very rare - 1 or 2 per 1000 children. Those most affected are children with underlying disease such as HIV, cancer, etc. It is even more rare in healthy children. This is not a major epidemic justifying government intervention.

The pneumococcal vaccine is associated with seizures and other serious adverse effects which infants experienced in the clinical testing. Almost 1% of infants went to the emergency room following the vaccine in clinical trials. The pneumococcal vaccine contains aluminum, which is a neuro-toxin.

The chickenpox vaccine is not needed because serious reactions to chickenpox in children are very rare. Most deaths from chickenpox are in adults. Giving the vaccine may produce only temporary immunity, preventing the child from contracting the natural disease and producing lifelong immunity. These children may be vulnerable as adults to chickenpox, when it is severe and life-threatening.

Contact your friends who care about vaccine safety to send comments in as well.
